i never really got a clear idea of what that story was. i was in the Art Dept, away from English, by that time, so i heard a lot of venting and opinions, but not much about what had actually happened. like maybe they were in a consensual relationship but she was still on the student's diss committee and the world somehow found out? or maybe it HAD been consensual but then there became elements of nonconsensuality in it? but i don't know what that might have been, if that's what happened. some kind of work/life conflict of interest for sure.
