I'm thinking about a housemate's cat that my partner was bothering. The cat gently pushed her hand aside with a soft paw. When my partner didn't desist, she exposed just the very very tips of her sharp claws, just enough to give a pinprick. It was clear that there would be more claw in the next push. :-)
