Wisdom includes knowing the difference between wanting the best for them and taking the weight of achieving that best on your own shoulders.

I'm pleased to hear your apple trees are doing well! We have a pear tree, but we almost never get to eat the pears, because the local wildlife turn out in force the moment it's ripe. Deer pluck everything hanging low enough for them to reach on their hind legs, and crows knock down the rest and then have their prizes stolen by charging rabbits. I'm not even kidding about the charging rabbits, they will run the crows off to get the fallen fruit to themselves. It's kinda weird and entertaining to watch the rabbits chase off the crows.
