Someone was talking about ADHD and getting stuck in the car on the way home from work, just basically being in the car and being unable to complete the task of getting into the house because the executive function chain ended at the end of "drive home" instead of at the end of "get into the house".
I don't have that. I have had days where I drive home and sit in the car awhile because I'm too tired to get out and get into the house, but that's not too weird-feeling to me; those are just demanding days.
I do get stuck in mirrors though: when I look close enough to my own eyes in a mirror I get stuck for an indeterminate length of time (2-30 mins-ish). I pretty much don't look myself in the eye in mirrors anymore. I consider this to be one of the normal PDA inversions of "typical" autism ("typical" autism being: can't make eye contact, so of course I get stuck making eye contact) and it isn't something I've heard of other folks doing.
