There's an emty lot next to my house you can use. And one across the way! The one on this side of the road is owned by the city. The one across the way is owned by the school board.
I think we should just take it over. Or at least harvest the hay that is lying on the lot next door and sell it. These fallow fields should be put to some use.
I know you can't just walk in and start making a garden there, but it would be interesting to see how far you could get one before the city came in and mowed it all down. The problem is that the soil there is utter crap so you've have to bring some good stuff in or do a *LOT* of rock-removal. Or ask the city if you could use one of their lots but I'm sure they'd say no, if for no other reason than the liability issues should you scratch yourself on a blackberry bush and decide to sue the city or something crazy like that.
