Good Morning!
Jul. 30th, 2005 07:33 amI got to sleep before midnight last night, so look: I'm awake!
Yesterday continued to be pretty awesome. I went to work for a new client, who was pretty cool in herself, but who was also on Granville Island. That both finished early and led to me dropping by Beth's work to chat with her for a bit. Then, since I was on the island anyhow, I picked up a loaf of bread and some cheap lox (go figure) and meandered in the direction of Wreck Beach.
Granville Island was in full swing yesterday afternoon, full of jugglers and musicians. It was definitely a fun sort of thing to meander through. There was also this one long-haired juggler there... but I digress, I kept walking after a minute anyhow.
On the way to Wreck it was a little bit cool, with some clouds blowing up. They disappeared by the time I was down on the beach, but they left it just a tiny bit chillier than it usually is. I didn't have any sunscreen with me, but I didn't get down there 'till 3:30 pm or so, and decided to try the Kyle approach to sun, where you remain aware of your skin and cover up with cloth if you feel crispy.
I was a little bit pink last night, but I notice this morning I'm pretty much unburnt (there's one spot that I can feel with the nail-test on my butt, upper left, and another on he rise of my hip to the right) and I'll be totally unburnt by tomorrow morning. Fascinating. This is *not* my body; my body doesn't do this.
So, water, eat, nap, water, sit on a rock, jump off with a big splash, lie around: so it went for the afternoon, until the sun got low. At that point Beth showed up, and we sat around chatting and watching the sunset with this guy from the carribean who was there for the first time, and then we headed off and I came home.
Oh, hah. I did chat with Juggler on the phone while waiting for Beth. Apparently it's amusing to see a naked person standing on an unindustrialised beach holding a cellphone to their ear. You know, I do love that guy so much...
I think that's the end of this post, because I can't think of anything more to say. So, take care, y'all.
