Homecoming II: Across and Up
Jul. 9th, 2007 07:38 amI went to Squamish for the first time ever yesterday. We went to climb, but not too much climbing got done in the end, after we had finished wandering around looking for places, getting lost on the exquisitely lovely trails, etc. No complaints here.
I had never been before, as I said. That place is amazing. It's especially amazing after going across the States like I did, because there was so much flat where I was. It's like the continent just rises up at the edge and does random huge impressive things.
The hikes felt great. Climbing on real rock is a crazy feeling, very different from the gym, and I definitely want to do more of it. It was sunny and lovely. I need to bring more water next time.
Today I work.
