I'm slipping back into the flow of life again. I've only been back to work for a couple of days, but my grounding is (slowly and erratically) returning.
How's work, you ask. Well, it's great. I work with two different landscaping companies, one that does more installation/reno work and is very perennial/permaculture based up in the wilds of West Vancouver, the other that's a team of city girls on the West side (Q: How do you know you live in Vancouver? A: You know the difference between West Van, the West side, and the West end). I'm making a fair chunk of cash, I'm busy four days per week, and I alternate hard and light periods (city gardening is much lighter, wheras on Wednesday I was using a mattock for four hours and sweating through the rain).
I love being outside all day. I work with cool, but very different, people. I have the biggest crush on one of my co-workers (they're all female, which is interesting in the industry). I will be VERY TIRED AND SORE on the weekend-- anyone offering massages? Gentle massages, I'm gonna be thrashed.
My baby rats are the hugest, fattest little wiggling sausages ever. They're growing so fast, and Angel is a fantastic mama. These are going to be definitely ROUS-inspired babies.
I'm still remarkably bitchy, possibly because I'm not getting much sleep (cats are loud, boyfriend is sick, I'm not home much), but that will work better as I get used to the routine. I'm packing enough to eat, and I bought myself a very nice thermos for hot tea. I'm not getting laid enough. I'm stressed about money, but mostly academically-- I'll swing rent, phone bill, and bus pass, I think, and as long as I keep making food rather than buying it I'll be good (I need to make a LOT of hummous next, the tortillas and beans at family dinner turned out so so well).
Um, lots more, none of which I can think of.
Soon.
