Rest-less

The wind has been blowing for weeks. It settles sometimes a little bit, but there was a windstorm that shut power down and draped two dozen trees over the powerlines and closed off roads so people had to boat across the lake to get home. The last couple days it's so loud I need to close my windows to sleep, and even then I only sleep restlessly.

My past is being blown away.

I've done all the things I need to do to get my house; they'll give it to me on Friday, that's this week. My house is named Threshold, I do believe. I'll rattle around in her until I can get enough movers to answer my calls that I can get three quotes and have my company move my stuff up. Meantime there is a bed, cast iron, and dishes. That's not so bad. Maybe I'll build myself a Very Solid table.

I've been dreaming a lot and I haven't been sleeping well. I could blame my tetanus vaccine and the stitches in my foot (first stitches; they feel SO WEIRD) and the wind and emotional turmoil on various levels. I don't know if it has an answer.

All I know is, it's windy and I keep wanting to stay up to catch a glimpse of the darkness.
