I Came Home
May. 3rd, 2019 08:54 pmA week of 12-hour-plus workdays, gone from home all but one night. Meetings, networking, driving forestry roads, more networking, and I started off sick: I am exhausted.
And then I came round the corner and I could catch the edge of my fenceline and there was my puppy Thea guarding one corner with the cat Hazard curled up companionably next to her. When he heard my truck Avallu came running with his tail high and his ears in happy mode; I drove in and wandered around feeding happy pigs and counting goslings and discovering some hatched chicks for awhile.
There are aphids on my tomato starts and I lost one outdoor gosling, I expect to ravens. My latest gosling hatch was a couple days late getting out of the turner. The downstairs bed needs to be de-catted after the housesitter slept in it with Whiskey-cat. I need to dig 26 fruit tree holes this weekend. I need to de-cat myself with a shower before bed.
But I am home, and so I am whole.
