I wasn't growing Mr Stripey, Green Zebra, or Black Brandywine as of Friday night.

Actually, does anyone who's moderately serious about growing tomatoes want any of the plants I have 4ish of? What happened is that Juggler planted them, and I thought he was thinning, but he didn't. So I only really want three of each plant, but I have 4-5 of each.

None of them are really porch-friendly, except maybe Black Plum, nor are they hugely _locke-friendly. If you want some for your plot, you're certainly welcome to a couple. Most of these plants get pretty big, so you'd need to stake or make big cages.

When I grew tomatoes up against the side of my house in Mission, the vines got about 14 feet long. These were a different variety, but what an amazing thing it was.

Excellent. What's the sunny square-footage you want to invest in tomatoes? I remember that yard as not having a ton of sun, I'm not sure if it would hold more than three plants? They get pretty big!

Well, I was talking about the fruit, but I think we'd have a big problem with that. I'd love (love love) to have the seeds, but I have absolutely nowhere to grow them. Then again, who knows where I'll be in a year?

Second floor, and our balcony has a balcony above it, meaning a two inch wide wooden 'railing', and even if I could get a tomato pot on the railing, it still only receives 4 hours a day of sun, considering the shadow of the balcony above, and the building behind. I tried growing tomatoes in pots that way last year...they were very, very sickly, and the only one that produced more than one or two tomatoes was one that was pre-grown to green tomato status in high sun, then given to me.

My twenty by fifteen greenhouse - which has been tilled and black-tarped has nothing in it as of yet. Whatever you want a home for, it'll find it with my peppers, melons, and the mere two types of tomato seedlings that survived hardening off....
