Yeah. And you reminded me that there's no such thing as a finished garden. It just wouldn't be any fun. There are two best parts of gardening: getting caught up when you step outside and see very clearly what IS, and wandering out and envisioning that hammock in the summer, your favourite tree just a little taller, the snow heaped up over the evergreens just so. I always need something left to dream about, something that I hope WILL BE.
And somehow, I remember all of these things when I think of the love I have for my garden, but I forget it so easily when I apply it to people.
