Today was a busy day, but a good one in the end. I got in a good nursery-wander with _greenwitch_, which was excellent even if the nursery was 1) overpriced and 2) had a bunch of its stock in quarantine. Does anyone know what's going on in California that they're worried about? It's cool to talk to someone who's been gardening awhile and has her own likes/dislikes/experiences to share. I'm looking forward to more of the same!

I also made a bunch of money and did a lot of work faster than usual, which is good. It may be because I kept eating regularly. I stopped at the local oriental bakery and picked up half a dozen curry beef buns and half a bozen bbq pork buns at about 8am this morning (thank goodness they're open that early, nothing else on the drive is) and sort of munched all day. Very cool.

Spent some time planning a greenhouse out back for tomatoes with the Juggler, and tomorrow I have some time to spend with the SO and then in the afternoon a tea-date (possibly short, but something) with TOW. I -like- being able to look forward to time with everyone at once, or to have just experienced time with everyone at once, instead of to have one date with one person on the horizon and that's it.

I'm still working on being a grown-up. I hear it takes some practice.

The rat babies aren't sneezing anymore, and are off their antibiotics. They're also really, really, really wonderful. Sweetie's really quiet, she just sort of curls up in my shirt or my hands (she prefers a shirt or, I imagine, a pocket, where it's enclosed) while Small's ...energetic. Man, is she energetic. She's like a small horde of rats, all in one, rushing all up and down the bed while Sweetie settles in.

Got some email from Mom in Japan, which is nice. It's snowing like crazy there, ten foot drifts, I understand. She's building igloos with my brother and having communication difficulties. It's good to hear from her. :)

The rats really seem to like lettuce and spinach. At the nursery I bought my kohl rabi, spinach, and eggplant for this year. They all need to get planted fairly quickly, the eggplant indoors though.

Hm. That's about it for right now. Be well. :)

I don't know, but i'm still not a grown-up and i plan to never be. Personally, i think grown-ups are boring, but if that's your goal, then i wish you all the best. Just don't lose too much of the fun stuff, ok? :)

Grown-ups may be boring, but they know their boundaries, they're unselfish, they have foresight and insight into how they work, and in general are much nicer to interact with on a longterm scale than otherwise. I don't think it means don't have fun -- I think it means have responsible fun, and responsible unfun too.
