greenstormThree days(?) after killing the lynx the neighbour emailed to say they hadn't seen the lynx in a couple days, but they'd just seen it in my field.
That would be lynx 2.0 I guess.
That's when I researched and realized there are likely 30-40 lynx within a 5km radius of me this year (post-fire, heavy disturbance in the last few years: rabbits thrive in openings, lynx thrive on rabbits, rabbits decrease as the openings from fire and forestry grow over, the lynxes starve or cannibalize).
This lynx seems more respectful, so that's good.
Lynxes are pretty cool though. Improbably shaped bodies, apparently taste like chicken/white meat, very capable, noteworthily cannibalistic, very pretty, neat population dynamics.
Oh well.
I got the geese indoors last night. We'll see if I can do that again tonight.
