I... am going to buy fish. I am going to get a ten gallon tank with a betta, a couple of guppies, a mangrove, and a pleco.

Or such is the plan as of today. I've been thinking abotu bettas for awhile, and it just doesn't seem fair to keep them in a tiny thing, but since you can't keep multiple bettas in a big tank... well.

Guess which of the above is a plant?

Also, I ate my first several ripe tomatoes today. The Juggler and I tied them all up, and I found a whole cluster of cherries that were ripe. Now, I don't remember planting cherry tomatoes, so I'm not sure what's up with that. Some were bright red and some were orangy, and they all seemed ripe. They were first-tomato tasting: real, but not bold or strong.

Then... I ate another ripe tomato, and this one was a black plum. What a superb tomato. Even though it was a first tomato the flavour was incredible, just balanced, almost perfumy. We have a lot of those coming, which is pretty cool. This tomato was eaten on sourdough rye with mayo and fresh garden onion from the neighbor. *mmmbounce*

My african violets are now here at home along with some grow lights, though not set up yet.

I like things.

They're yummy. A real description of them would be 'red, green, and muddy brown plum-shaped tomatoes' but black sounds classier.

Definitely the mangrove. I used to have a pleco, a betta and guppies (amongst others) with the ex. I always liked the "jurassic" air of the pleco.

I like pretty things and a clean tank.

Do you know of any good aquarium stores?

We used to go to Big Als at North Road and Lougheed Hwy (101-4501 North Road). You can get to it easily by getting off at the Lougheed Mall Skytrain and walking south on North Road.

They also have a great assortment of live plants for aquariums. You might even want to think of it as less an aquarium and more of an aquatic plant garden. :)
