Brilliant Idea! &c.
Aug. 9th, 2004 08:15 amReplace ladder on bed with rope ladder, gain square feet in bedroom. Thus: rats can go around the edge, the lounging area works better, and I am happy.
Also: I'm still getting used to this free-weekends thing. I came home from the laundromat Sunday at noon. That gave me time to: scrub the kitchen floor, do most of the dishes, cook, scrub the bathroom, vacuum, move the sofa, have a *bath* and read for a bit, and then hang out and read for awhile more (while answering stuff on the Chia channel between things). Man, all of that, done on one weekend. This home thing is really interesting.
Speaking of Chia, I find that I get nervous before running plots there. I don't get nervous before speaking in public, bring that on! But somehow this is different, possibly because I can't see people's faces and thus tailor it to their interests quite as well. My only feedback as to their enjoyment is stuff like reaction time.
I see people from Chia here, or I did last night! Hi, Chiapeople! :>
It's really interesting to look at the different groups of people on my friends list, and imagine how they'd get along.

Date: 2004-08-09 12:53 pm (UTC)I get nervous before events too - my mind going a mile a minute with worries of Will any one come? Will they have a good time? Did I plan too much? Did I plan too little? How will I handle things if lots of people show? etc, etc. It's a kind of stage nervousness I think, but it all works out brilliantly! Just read the logs. Loved your scene with Jurus, BTW!
Cya on the grid!

Date: 2004-08-10 12:34 pm (UTC)Gee we plan events the same way - Concept, Calendar, Panic, Log.
The biggest challenge on attending events for me has been the time difference. I'm likely going to miss the major part of the Wildling Arc since it starts when I'm just leaving work, and I don't typically play until 8:30-9pm our time. By then, the terror has been beaten down for the night and the after scene chatter is starting.
I'm hoping as more Westcoasters and Asia folk get on board, we'll be able to run some 'late night' plots. Orell's been great for doing that. Mercan too.

Date: 2004-08-09 11:03 pm (UTC)Your Chia plot tonight was lovely, Greenie. :) I was concerned that I wouldn't be able to make it like I had planned, but luckily it panned out so that I could. I enjoyed the time as a player and writer, being able to bring out facets in Laeria. Her moody/zealotry when faced with Shadow-related concepts and realities.
And you know - or should know by now - that I've always enjoyed all our RP sessions. Whether you're running the plot as admin or are there as a player.
Now... public speaking? Yeesh. I'd wilt away.

Date: 2004-08-10 07:02 am (UTC)I kind of miss 'just interaction' with people -- it's been too much work for me to seek it out lately. Rather, I've been too irritable to deal with the speedwalkers and ooc chatters to get to the RP sessions. P'raps, though, we'll play again when I can shake that.
