I remember thinking as a child that the one thing my mother could do to make me feel completely uninterested in doing something she wanted me to do was to tell me to do it while I was in the middle of deciding to do it. Not really PDA, but it came to mind. Though looking at profiles of adult PDA and in relation to my own life is very...whew, especially re the self-motivation and social aspects.
