Also washing machine broke. I can work around a lot of things, but in my household? Not a clothes washer. All the new ones are 1000+ dollars and have WIFI, AI, and goodness knows what else.
Do you have a local Habitat for Humanity store? We bought a used one for much less than the price of new, and it lasted longer than our previous one (which was bought new).
No, we don't. It's pretty expensive to get stuff up to the North here, so it's interesting just how much of a premium that puts on used anything, from appliances and cars to dressers and chairs. Used things are more expensive than I'm used to from the city and they sell very very quickly. It's one of the things I miss about a city populated with rich people who replace all their stuff every couple years!
