Sun streams in the window
Cool, clear, bright
Rippling like water over stones
Like water washing strength
from my limbs
Caught as if by the power of a river
I lie back on the pillows
Washed by light
Held by gravity
The daylight playing over my body
And then passing on
I am no more than
Bones held underwater
Motionless
And eyes recording a day's passage
