Now, Real News!
Aug. 28th, 2004 09:06 pmNow for an event that they wouldn't gloss over in a book about my life... or maybe they'd gloss it over, but it would be there, unlike 'she got sick on August 25 2004':
I'm moving again.
This will ease a bunch of (mostly incipient) strain that Tillie's been under around her dates with her primary partner, ease up on my guilt, put me in a room with more sunlight... add some stress to her life as she finds another roommate, add a bit to mine as I figure out bus routes to and from North Van (as bioentropy and his wife have ended up not moving closer to town yet), and... well, we'll see what else it does. It means I won't have to go to the laundromat anymore, though. I'll miss Tillie.
In other news, Caramel is now living with Arthur and Merlin, the other boy rats. He can squeeze through the bars of their bigger cage, but he won't make the jump to the ground, so he's good in there. Besides, he was eating the temp cage he was in.
I introduced them this morning on my bed, and there was a mild amoutn of squeal/rolling over play. Now that he's in the cage proper, he's just quiet, and they all sort of ignore each other. They're cute, though.
I think that next weekend I'm going away to rainbowk's family's place for the long weekend, which will be nice, even if it's raining. I love the interior, to visit. I haven't talked to her much about this, but I'm secondhandly informed of it and I'm all for it. Rainbowk, I should call you sometime. ;) I need a carpool.
The week after that I'm putting in some time on the weekend with the Juggler, since our grand total in the three weekends prior to that is two dates, none overnight and one two hours long total that involved mattress-hauling. Oh! Someone (Dixie) on the Vancouver lj community gave me a mattress to go under my bed, as a sofa-like object. It was really nice of her, and I appreciate it tons. It's also cool to meet internet-people in RL.
Speaking of which, jointhesaga (Brody/Wes Platt), who is the guy that runs Chia and OS, is coming up to Seattle soonish. My paperwork isn't straightened out to get down there yet, but I'm hoping to entice him, and maybe also echo2oak and devi_sage up here for all-you-can-eat sushi or something. It'd be cool to meet both jointhesaga and devi, and also Brody's wife if she can make it.

Date: 2004-08-30 01:06 am (UTC)Oh my. That'd be very interesting, wouldn't it? Maybe entice Chalice to come along too, now that she's relocated 'round here. But, sadly, I doubt I'd be able to pop out for a wide variety of reasons. College starting, health, the mom, responsibilities. Though sushi does sound nummy. California rolls are my favorite. :)
