Social Situations
Oct. 10th, 2004 08:23 pmI'm quiet in social situations. People'd got used to that, I think, but now there's a new set to get used to it. Tonight, for instance, was the Thanksgiving dinner (is the Thanksgiving dinner) here at home. There are twelve people here. I enjoy this sort of situation specifically, where I wander through and eat and bask in the reflected glow of conversation until I start to shine very gently, then I wander off to do laundry and such in preparation for hitching a ride in to sleep with Chris.
It surprised him (he's not here tonight) that I'm this way. He's not.
Life is a strange journey. Caramel doesn't like turkey; I gave the rats a bit of thanksgiving dinner and he turned up his nose. Silly Caramel. I'll have to grab some greens for him instead. He was really sociable tonight. I need to try and coerce Chris into spending time here sometimes so they can get visited more.
I'm sleepy and comfortable. I'll be less so tomorrow, where I can't slink off to my room when I need. Oh, well.
Hope your weekend's going well. T'care.
