Good Weekend
Dec. 5th, 2004 09:34 pmI ended up going to Trevor's surprise party on Saturday night, which was a pretty all-day thing since I had to get out to Mission and get back again as well.
It was a really good decision. There was a bunch of drinking, which I'm usually not comfortable around, but this time it was fine. I got to see Andrew Quenton, Trevor, and a bunch of people I'd graduated from high school with. It was good to talk with these people, good to hang out putting up streamers and running around to pick stuff up before Trev got into the house, good to sit up late snuggling with Trevor and talking, good to be woken by the sun and talk with him a bunch more, good to go for breakfast with him and Melissa and Melissa's boyfriend, just good. These are people I knew before I met Kynnin, and it was phenominally good for me to talk to people that remember the beginning of that relationship, that knew me as a person before that occurred.
I got to explain permaculture to people, to just chat and catch up -- it's good to see, especially, that everyone who was a little confused and angsty in the year after high school or two, has got their lives sort of together. They're grown up and they have paths under their feet.
Then I came home to Chris' place dead tired, since I'd been up till 4am, and snoozed on the couch for awhile. He made me dinner, and now I'm figuring out bittorrent (bah, I hate the web). I wish I could find my Nine Days Madding Crowd CD that Jan had burnt me. Juggler called, but after such a bare weekend (I'm tired, and very vulnerable) it was weird to talk to him, and I am just tired. I need people around me that I can settle into, tonight. So, Chris doing his homework is a good settled-in background.
I really needed that weekend. T'was nice. :)
