Look, I'm back to my _thankyou_ mode, like I was back when. Maybe? Anyhow, today's cool, and though I had a down period for about a day and a half or two days there, life is also cool. The down period also *passed* - the more that happens, the more I know they actually will pass, and the more I loosen up when I actually have them and just reclaim silence for a little while.

But look out there, look at that sun. I do think we've actually experienced climate change now, I mean... it's so *dry*. It is lovely, however, and I'm curious to see what this means to gardening.

I've been rereading Gaia's Garden (Ellen, I know you want this back with your new space, I will call you tonight/tomorrow afternoon as soon as I get my week sorted out) and it's a pretty inspirational book, even for Greenie-the-gardenless.

Also Ellen-inspired, I bought some peppermint Castile Soap. That stuff is amazing. It's a pretty mild soap with some peppermint essential oil in it, very foamy, not perfumy at all. Showering with it makes me feel really awake and alive. Yay!

Chris and i have been roasting chickens lately, so there's a roast chicken in the fridge, which means lots of sandwiches. :) He uses the 'beer-chicken' method, which basically means you stand the chicken on end on an opened can of beer, so the beer bastes the inside of the chicken as it boils. It works pretty well, I'm experiementing with flavouring the beer with teriyaki, etc.

Did a whackload of dishes this morning and vacuumed the house. Feels good. Also-

I went to Habsons' jewellery supply on 6th and got five feet of half-hard 16-gauge silver wire to make a bunch of fake piercings with. I went to Beckwoman's and bought two fake noserings for a character I was playing, and they were about $5 each. All they are is some relatively stiff sterling silver wire bent around and then heat-beaded at the tips. So I decided I wanted to do that, and Juggler has the acetelyne torch, the soldiering iron, and the propane torch so I'm sure we can bead it with one of them. The wire was $20 for a much heavier gauge than the ones I got at Beckwoman's, and I can probably make ttwenty-five or so... then I'll go back and make a bunch of lower gauge ones. Imagine what you can do with that many fake percings? Miravaz, I will come to you with them. :)

Habsons' jewellery supply is so awesome, by the way. It has a hushed, very expensive feel, because it's for peopel who make jewellery. There are tiny little anvils, bulk jewellery display stands and rosewood bracelet and necklace cases, crucibles, rollers, presses, very accurate tiny scales, magnifying lenses that'd be cool for miniature painting, etc. So cool. I want to be a jeweller when I grow up just so I can buy things from there frequently.

Friends are re-entering my life. I may go out to Salt Spring and visit Kyle, who I traditionally only see one day per year at the folk fest. Been talking to Trevor, and Potential New Friend and I are hanging out a bit today. May go and see people at Estry's birthday party this weekend. The arc of otherwise-busyness feels like it's letting up, so I may even be able to creep out and see Ellen. I think my new palm pilot helps me with this - the graphical depiction of free time as well as busy time lets me organise things better.

To the door Be well.

Pssssst!!! I'm going to try and make it to Estry's this weekend too, so maybe we can do two things at once ;) Be quiet though, 'cause I don't want my current cold/bug/whatever to ruin my chances to get back on my feet and be social.....

Oh, man, I remember the first time me 'n Chris made a beer-can chicken.

We used a can of Heineken.

We got the recipe from (no shit of a lie) Tako the Octopus.

www.8legged.com

Worked like a charm the first time. That was damn good chicken.
