But first, spring.
There are cherry blossoms out on the ride, on the 19th right before Stanley Park. Pink Camellias are open down by 1st and Alma, as is tons and tons of witch hazel. Walking along today, I kept walking through the scent of witch hazel blooms mingled with fresh laundry scent. Does everyone do their laundry on Monday afternoons? There are crocus coming up, and daffodils blooming, and the buds on clematis armandii and magnolias (those fat furry things, have you looked at them ever?) are swelling. On Sunday I had my LARP, and I got to Stanley Park early and swung on the swings for half an hour. Someone saw me swinging and came to talk to me, so I had a conversation with a jogger about playground equipment, his kids, and our childhoods for a little bit. Then, the LARP began.
A picture of my char can be found at http://www.quests-end.ca/char.php?aimee . For all y'all who don't know me in person-like, that's a wig. And a costume.
It was an awesome LARP session. I'd been really irritable about my character, and this session was full of tension and conflict. There was a ton of cool interpersonal stuff, which is what I live for, and Aimee went running off to cry twice, which was extraordinarily cathartic. I feel like I have a good grip on why I play her again, and I hope I can keep that up. I've refined her social patterns (heh) so it's more likely I can get evenly-spaced between-sessions in there (hey, Angus, when are you free in the next month?).
Then we all went to Chris' place and stayed past the last bus. Grr. I hate Sundays, the only day with no nightbus and no evening busses either. I was up way too late.
Now, on to my week. :P
