Long Ramble.
Aug. 13th, 2004 04:16 pmSo, first: I'm reading a book about Henry Morgantaler, the abortion doctor. There's a quote in there I really like:
"My father told me it was possible for everyone in the world to have a different opinion from you and you all to be right."
It's neat reading a biography like this, because it has places and people I know in it (justice Minister Jean Cretien, etc) and even one of the bands I saw at the Mission Folk Fest this year (Flying Bulgar Klezmer Band).
Second: I'm still running on empty, energy-wise, but I'm faking it pretty well.
Third: a bunch of birthday presents are in. That sounds... weird, but it's how it is. I realise I -really need- to do thank you cards. Most of it's just nice -- Tillie got me a big wok, so now I have a big and a small one, Ellen took me out for dinner, that sort of thing. The Juggler got me a Magic Wand (you know, -the- Hitachi magic wand?) from which packaging I will quote extensiverly later. It's... weird, for someone who broke up with you to get you a sex toy, you know? No word from Kynnin, surprise surprise. The actual surprise (or not, I don't know) is that Mouse, in addition to sending a gift, also gave me an invitation to eat at her place (she cooks good food). I'm still thinking about what to do with that. It's a really nice gesture, especially since she knows I really like to be cooked for, but man... under these particular circumstances... bah. Anyhow, she's particularly why I need thank you cards, though.
Fourth: I've almost completely decided to get my tongue pierced. There are no sexual acts for it to interfere with right now (seriously, yes, that has been a reason to avoid it in the past. Six weeks!?) and I had a dream where it happened, actually. So... it kind of feels like a piercing there is -missing- right now.
Fifth: Okay, so, the Hitachi Magic Wand, part I: packaging. This is THE vibrator, folks. Fairly legendary piece of equipment, yet it masquerades as a 'massager' in the packaging. (When I use it for massage purposes, it makes my skin itch like crazy, weirdly).

Also, I have a new baby. More info later, now I need to 'soak the rats' and do their cages for _locke, and also type up a Chia thingy.

It's basically an 'interactive story-telling medium' or a 'roleplay-heavy MUSH' if either of those mean anything to you. I staff there, and play there too.
