This one feels relatively accurate, though I am, as usual, a tie.

Today was distinctly weird. Well, the weekend was distinctly weird too, I guess. I ended up at a gaming party last night with Bob (cause how could I ever date someone who doesn't go to parties where people sit around playing games even though I don't?) where a bunch of people were playing things like Halo (the video game) and Illuminati (the board game) and Magic (the card game). I was in the room with... wait for it... Karaoke Revolution which can somehow be combined with Dance Dance Revolution for a video game which made me realise that it's been eight or ten years since I was at this kind of party last. This is new and interesting. Video games have arrived, dammit. Meanwhile Kat was sitting there playing Cooking Mama on her little tiny console thing, and I'm just not sure what to say.

So I drank too many cups of tea last night, went to work in ghost offices today which echoed with the empty in them, came home, cleaned rat cages, cleaned more stuff, went for a run, and did the floors (again, I seem to do them one or two times a week, which is nice. I like hardwood floors, and with pets this isn't an excessive amount of cleaning). My brain's all tangled up, a bit paranoid from the tea and weird hours, and definitely weird with the upcoming move. I went for a run just now, which helped a lot-- Bob's good at getting me out the door. I'm a little bit freaked out-- there's so much to do! -- but more just feeling lonely in advance. Silly, and I need to work on that, cause over-indulgence in my bad LDR stuff just isn't worth it in this case. Tillie reminded me that I'm much older than the last time I was in a weekends-only relationship situation, and I have more skills and self-knowledge now. I'm glad she did that, cause I realise I'm not trapped in old behaviours now. It's a choice to continue them if I want to, not a necessity.

To mutilate chronology, this had been a weekend of friends spontaneously showing up where I am-- Eva at the party last night, and Tillie and CrazyChris on Saturday. Chris followed me home from Beth's, where we'd crashed after watching Serenity and Pitch Black, and we did the food/nap thing all day. I love my fireplace. Fire makes a place home. At Beth's, I got to use my poly skills to make the bed up for the three of us. Yay poly skills! (You use two blankets, with a seam down the center for the middle person's comfort and convenience, and if you pull the bed away from the wall a few inches there's a little more 'hanging room' in a not-quite-big-enough bed). It's always awesome to hang out with Beth, and really nice to see my friends before I head. I love the spontanaeity of weekends like this.

Anyhow, I have packing, rat-travel-cage-making, and stuff-buying to do in the next couple of days. Tomorrow is MEC, for long underwear, a lantern that burns stuff to make light but that doesn't use some sort of pre-filled cannisters, an accordian water-holder, belay device, and gatorade.

Wednesday I take Sunny Sunny Sunday up to Lizzy's, in case she has her babies before I leave. If she does, Lizzy will take care of the babies for the first two weeks, because they can't be moved after they're born. If she doesn't, she comes with me, and I stay in Kelowna for two weeks. I also take Rain and Honeypie to Lizzy's, who takes them to her vet for The Snip, and I pick up Sheepie aka Rosie Dunn. Then karaoke.

Thursday is climbing and hitting the Drive for castille soap, a cooking pot, kettle, teapot, and some latte mugs. Friday is far away.

I need to figure out how to get that webpage done for the rattery. I suppose I should start by sketching a layout.

Oh well, sleepy now.
