I opened it and this is what I saw:

Sun and Moon

It's all about sex,
we both know that.

But what I wonder is
why
after every molecule of desire
in my body has been satisfied
after
the sudden moistening, the deep
fierce aching and rising heat,
after
the throbbing glory of release and the cries
of need and pleasure have dissolved
into the air,

Something like my soul slips from me
and goes to you,
without choice or question,
and wraps itself around you
all night, like the breath
of the moon

And why
I carry the thought of you
as constant as any sun
in my heart.

That book lives with me now.

Oh Wow

They keep coming to me.

Lecturing My Body

Here's the deal: You
take care of me,
I'll take care of you.
The body's a car
Whatever's-not-the-car,
that's the driver.
Or the car's an animal,
the driver a zookeeper.
The animal's a ditch,
the zookeeper a wheelbarrow.
A wheelbarrow bringing
tobacco, whiskey
& even love because,
well, just because.

Joy is:

A morning spent sleeping in till 9am!!

A day bookended by snuggles.

The best ever veggie tacos, made by yours truly (nopales are my favourite thing. I don't know why I live anywhere other than a permaculture prickly pear farm)

Knowing you made enough taco filling to feed an army, and need eat nothing else for a day or two.

Possibilities that were lost rediscovered.

A totally adorable, uncranky kid who I feel some kinship with to play with and someone else to change the diapers.

Lunch with mom, who talked about her garden and will bring me okra seeds (!!!)

Texthugs from you know who.

Cutie Ratties (including a video of someone else's rat and the possibility of more babies soon and, er-- a rat who didn't have an infected penis, just a penis plug. Ask if you must)

Livestreaming music from a friend while cooking.

Free brand new wok by the roadside.

Picking up snails from a rainy street.

The necklace I'd been looking for since Spring Mysteries, right there in front of me.

Book of poetry.

Book of short funnies.

Enough money to get through to payday.

Ellen's strawberry-apple jam for dessert, with corn tortillas.

Ginger bug starting on the bench, I can't wait to do the ginger beer up!

Menu dreams for the housewarming.

Emotionally reconnecting to my boy (man, I had missed that)

First rhubarb of the season! And really just shopping for dinner again is marvellous. Food is so beautiful.

A blonde kid named Apollo.

Did I mention I like reading to kids?

...especially when they are enthralled with pictures of unicorns, as am I.

Actually basically anything that happened today was super awesome.

Love y'all. Good night.
