Metaphorically Speaking
May. 7th, 2014 09:05 pmI would say that the first feelings of love for someone are like a foundation, but that's a trite and unhelpful metaphor.
The beginning of love is like soil. It requires knowledge of the terrain, discipline, and work to come to a fruitful garden; also it requires mama nature's magic and long periods of pure enjoyment lest the point be lost and the feeling of work overtake the process.
Also, though spring is fun and alive with possibility as the first soil is turned and the first seeds planted, it's also so lovely to lie in the shade and eat fruit planted years ago.
