How did the daughter of a filmmaker grow up with what seems to be very little love for movies or other media of that sort?

But seriously, I love... well-done movies. I'm just a very poor target audience for many of them. And I find the rest of my life so much more engrossing that comparatively almost any movie seems like a waste of time unless I -know- it's good.
