Usually when I get on the internet, I read, read (email, lj) and then write. Now, I'm writing first.

Yesterday I met SeattleChris at the bus station and went down to the fireworks. The fireworks were fantastic this year, less crowded than usual and also better choreographed, with a bunch of distinct music/mood segments. Especially cool was the second-last segment, which had a whole bunch of ten-second clips from really recogniseable pop songs like Dancing Queen etc. We got back to my place fine, and I found that my couch is really very comfy to sleep on.

In the morning I did tomato bondange and then rushed off with SeattleChris to meet Tyler and head to Jhayne's and thus on to the Pride Parade. It was kind of cool to be hanging out with a bunch of people I didn't know much at all-- Tyler was a good security blanket, and everyone else was pretty cool. The parade itself sucked, though I saw Kenzie and Mel in it. There was just no oomph this year, whether because of heat or because it seemed like more people did token floats than went all-out.

I wore my strap tied to the loop of my collar in such a way that it looked liek a tie, together with my men's dress shirt. I was amused, at least.

After that, beach with the remains of the crowd (Tyler was gone by this time, so it was me, SeattleChris, Reina, Jhayne, Ryan, and a couple of assorted peopel at various times) and with food, went swimming a bit, and dropped Chris off at the station. Coincidentally ran into Jhayne and Reina again and we were all going shopping, so I did a commual girl-shoppign experience, which was also pretty cool, and here I am. I'm sweaty, sunscreeny, a little bit burnt, and salty. I need to shower. But, it was an excellent weekend, and it's still not over-- though I work tomorrow, the festivities continue with Beth's cavewarming.

Now that that is all down, I'll go read, and eat, and maybe do a more thoughtful update later. Still digesting right now, or maybe just am busy be-ing.

You probably saw us... we didn't see many people because it was WAY crazy trying to do more than play and walk at the same time. My impression was that much of pride sucked... Don't know about the parade although I had the same complaints as always - too many commercial floats and always someone obnoxiously pumping really loud club music through speakers on the float that's supposed to be in front of us (we managed to get rearranged so there were a few floats between us so that there was some kind of point in our playing anything; if we'd been right behind them we might as well have saved our breath).

Weirdly, those ones weren't even very loud, which in itself kinsa sucked. I think Mel saw us, but you did seem pretty focussed.

*waves*

'Twas cool hanging out this weekend!

I'm back, safe and sound, and trying to decide whether to spend another hour and a half updating my webcomic (there's the link you wanted :P) or just going to bed.

Well, we'll see how working on the comic goes.

Tomato bondage?

The tomatoes are lazy plants that sprawl inelegantly and even dangerously along the ground. With my superb bondage skills, I tame and train them into elegant and useful shapes that their natural inclinations would not normally allow them. Like, off the pathway.

My burn has deepened into something that looks like it was applied with dye.

I think Graham won the weird sunburn contest last night, though.

All the purple-and-black facepaint acted as sunscreen, so he had flame-shaped white patches on his forehead.

Anyone who can be lovely and casual in a baby-pink negligee while talking about huffing Pam is so far beyond my own paltry conception of brilliance that I can't comment.

We have been outdone. Outdone, classed, and jaded.

Innit great?

Oh, I'm used to being outclassed. In fact, I'm more groupie than centre-stage.

I think I'm placed central groupie. I used to answer to Penny Lane.

See? Outclassed again. Can I be your groupie groupie?

Only if I can be yours.
