Got up early to go to work today; realised that the workday I thought it was is actually a week fro today. Kept walking, went home, cleaned a lot, and hung out for the electrician to come and deal with some stuff around us not having grounding in our electrical system.

Cleaned up the algae on the insides of the fish tanks, etc. Yesterday I dropped two five-gallon buckets of tomatoes off at CrazyChris', kept one five-gallon bucket. These are tomatoes I pulled out of the yard garbage at Juggler's place. Read that again. That's three five-gallon buckets of tomatoes that were gonna be trashed-- and I only put the ones with zewro bug damage in the buckets. Go figure.

Gotta glean my tomatoes out of the greenhouse now.

Got a new koi, Sunshine, so my tank is now happily maxed. They really are lovely fish, and nice to watch. Gave the bettas some exercise with the mirror. Hah.

I feel weird, not having talked to anyone other than the landlord all day, really. Well, that and the main roommate who wants me to pull more weight around the house, which makes sense given that I have done zero here for two weeks. Reality feels slippery.

The tomatoes are wonderful. I stole a bunch from Chris, including the one and only green striped one. there was also much talk of tomato volcanos :D

Was the green striped one from the compost tomato?

I believe I picked my last tomatoes on Thursday last week - they've started to mold *on the vine* in the greenhouse - actually, they started doing that about a month ago. It wasn't blossom end rot. I dunno what started the process - maybe the cold mornings? I have about ten quarts of tomatoes canned, and a few pints. We have about three quart jars filled with dehydrated tomatoes for soups this winter, and I have a bowlful of ripe ones sitting at my desk. I still need to dig up my potatoes and any remaining carrots - and snip my amaranth before it shatters onto the garden soil. Wish I'd gotten to see your tomato plants in production :)

Mine are getting a touch blight-y the more I leave them, and some of the fruits are succumbing, but... no time/place for them. I think this Sat evening is a squash-cook at my place, and tomato picking. Wanna come?

I'll be flying off to Ontario that day.
Maybe something the following weekend (29/30) ?
