I don't like ee cummings, generally.

somewhere i have never travelled, gladly beyond
any experience,your eyes have their silence:

I love proper English. I also love the effects that can be created with it, and he doesn't create those effects in me, generally. What he does seems to me to be self-indulgent play, rather than a calculated effect on my emotional bits.

Yeah, those sorts of snippet-thoughts really attach well to me. Maybe it's just my ADD brain, but I can really soak in his poetry better than most.

Agreed. He really toned down the self-indulgent play aspect with this poem, though, and that's why I like it better than anything else in the admittedly small amount of his poetry I've read, and it sounds like that's why you like it better too...
