Napier Greenway
Britannia Community Centre
In celebration of community & food, the local community will gather for the 11th annual Stone Soup Festival on Saturday, May 6 at 11:30 am at Britannia community Centre in East Vancouver.
This year’s festival will feature an enactment of the Stone Soup story. Bring your contribution to the soup, and watch as the story is brought to life! There will be live performances by Sambalada, Mud Foot, Courageous Mountain Rangers, and others. Local youth will also host an “Iron Chef” competition using local ingredients. Other highlights include:
* plant & seed swap
* papier mache bugs – learn about beneficial insects & make one
* clay pot planting workshops by Environmental Youth Alliance
* children’s face painting & storytelling
* local crafters, food vendors & farmers
* information tables on all things food
* master gardeners, plants, and lots of community magic!
The Stone Soup will be served throughout the festival. Recipes and stories are being gathered for a Stone Soup Community Book – bring your contribution – share in the magic of Stone Soup.
