Acronym Night
May. 10th, 2006 02:22 amTonight was family dinner with my brothers after working outside in the beautiful sunshine. My brothers left just in time for me to hoof it over to Mandarin Movie Tuesday, where there was a small assortment of awesome people. I slept through Emperor and the Assassin (Chris had showed it to me before, so that was my intention) wrapped up in a blanket on Chris' floor, then sat around in a bit of a stupor until I could drag myself out of the chair and head home. I've now answered all my email, though I have to write some-- to Bevan (this weekend, a walk?), stuff like that.
I've been keeping at least weekly communication with mom, which feels nice. I like the fact that I know she appreciates my communication ability (she says in a terribly convoluted sentence). I got my appreciation for language from her.
Anyone coming to Piotr's dinner with me, did I remember to tell you to bring $5 to cover ingredients, or $10 if you're drinking? I'm going to try and convince Trevor to come too. It really is such a wonderful event. It's like family.
Mom sent me 10000 yen towards the permaculture course, which will come in handy as I scrape by till next paycheque. The bill looks very impressive, although it's along the lines of grocery money for two weeks rather than anything the zeroes would normally indicate.
I had ratty-introductions today on my brother's lap. Got a bowl of baby formula, watered down, and sat them all around it. They drank for a bit, Silver and Sweetie tusselled briefly, they wandered around sniffing each other, they hung out, and they all went back to their respective cages. It was good. I also did a super-intense cage-cleaning, which involved hauling the cages into the shower rather than just wiping them down. It smells less ratty in there, so I'm happy.
Tomorrow is possible roleplay, definite laundry, maybe some reading, maybe some baking.
Change is creeping through my life. It has been awhile. I'm strapping myself in for the ride and holding tight to the wheel. Remember, don't stare at telephone poles or you end up wrapped around 'em.
