(no subject)

I just can't think of a title to slap on this one. I'm tired I'm sick, I'm restless. I can't sleep, I haven't got any real roots in one place, and everyone who could snuggle me is either not here or tied up in their own stuff, even if they weren't sleeping. Plus, I'm sick -- not prime snuggling material.

So, we practice self-sufficiency. I'll putz around on the computer for awhile, maybe make myself some hot chocolate, and slip back into bed unnoticed in a bit. A good skill to have, right? Self-sufficiency, not necessarily slipping back into bed.

My brothers came over to the apartment and helped me scrub walls today - well, two did, the two oldest. *sigh* I'm proud of them, but a bit worried. We'll let that stand for now.

I always thought that my subconscious was subverting me when I got sick, considering it always happened when I needed to get something done. And yeah, self-sufficiency is great. For self-esteem, if nothing else.

I find that the sick<->need to do stuff connection is made by the stress induced by the stuff needing to be done causing the immune system to go on strike.

Mice are warm and snuggly, not at all averse to snuggling sick people, and not bothered by being woken by loved ones when they need a snuggle.

Remember that.
