Barefoot and Quickening
Jun. 19th, 2006 06:18 pmSo far it's holding.
I'm back in the city, back at home. I've started doing the rounds -- seen Juggler, CrazyChris, and Graham. I've started the moving contemplation, and at this point I'm sorta thinking about trying to couch-surf for a month or two-- I'm not feeling like being tied down right now, and my stuff is a big tie. Better use my tolerance for being tied with people rather than things.
Today, walking home from Graham's, I took off my shoes and walked barefoot. It felt good. I avoided my community garden, having been overwhelmed by Juggler's, and I know today is gonna be overwhelming-- returning to work, Tillie's, Graham, and KMM all at the same time. Wah.
My home is clean and full of neat people. My computer fails to work still, but I have offer of a loaner laptop. My only issue is that I can't play music right now, and I'm in withdrawal from REM's Up! album.
Lovelovelovelove, and sunlight today.
On Mondays, I am entrusted with the lives of about 250 plants. That is, I checked up on 250 plants today, watered them, etc. It was awesome to see my bosses, they're so fabulous. My responsibilities are settling back on my shoulders so quick I can hear my neck popping. Maybe that's why I don't want to dive into an apartment right now?
Oh, well. I should talk to Jack and see if the house he wants to rent in September has to be in North Van. I may have time to house-hunt.
None of my plants are dead, which is awesome. I did some emergency watering yesterday, and things have perked up. Thank you, Beth, for doing that when I was gone.
Haha. I'm so happy. I'm working on a definition of extreme permaculture.
