It's annoying that the solution's always the same thing: lots of clear communication and setting personal boundaries.
Why isn't there anything magic that doesn't take work? ;P
I'm gonna take the rest of the day off worrying about it if I can, go down to the Farmer's Market, spend some time with the4 SO's family (they're celebrating his brother's birthday), wear my new Pearl Jam t-shirt (!!!!) and generally see if I can relax. Then, back to the grind.
I should have guessed this would come up back when I was thinking, gee, this long distance relationship is working so well!

See, my thing on "just happens" is this: It's entirely possible that shit just happens, and that the universe has better things to do with its time than organize my life like a DM sending me opportunities for experience points. BUT, if I operate under the assumption that life is deliberately organized by some divine entity for my education and enjoyment, then life is more satisfying and more fun, and I generally just get a lot more out of it. So I don't worry about the "truth" of that, because by acting like life is a series of lessons I have been learning a lot more.
