Halfway To Consciousness
Aug. 27th, 2006 07:25 amThe necessity for moving makes me turn into a zombie, complete with brains dribbling out my ears. Yesterday I was a zombie, at least until the first carload of stuff was brought here and the movers were hired for today at 3pm. Now I'm okcay, because it's almost all out of my hands. Stuff's packed, everything for the movers is in one neat heap, my rats are ready to come home, it's good.
I'm borrowing mom's car for the day, so I stopped in to chat with her a bit last night. It was pretty wonderful. I love my mom. She revealed to me that, between roommates when she was going to school and past marriages, this is the first time she's lived actually on her own now that my brother's gone-- well, when she was living in Japan this summer she was on her own too, but not before that. I thought that was pretty amazing. She's starting to grow some flowers on the docks, like most of the boaters around her. I should hook her up with a plant or two.
I think this is already starting to be home-- witness my waking up early to do the internet rounds, then crawling back into bed/going to work? I just need to add a run in there and I'll be great.
I'm actually looking forward to the part-- after I move and after I take a couple of days off to de-stress and to not be in the same room with bob 20 hours a day, cause you can only take so many days of that --when I actually move in my stuff, that is, distribute it usefully amongst the rooms in the house.
I'm a tiny bit worried about the rats, because they do much better with the boys and the girls in seperate rooms. It made a huge diffewrence putting them in the same room just for a couple hours when arranging stuff yesterday, they were way more agressive and spazzy. I think I may have to keep them in different rooms until the boys get fixed, which will be as soon as Honeypie is old enough. He's maybe two-three months now, and he needs to be four, April says.
