My porch looks so much better now that the bikes aren't right outside the sliding door to the livingroom, but that is instead turned into a green oasis.

Not sure how to arrange the whole thing still, but it's better.

Having to move bikes inside apartments is so damned irritating.

On the other hand, bike theft is scarily rampant. I used to lock up my bike across the street from the building where I work (which lacks bike storage): The bike rack was under a roof, and right in front of a bank, where tellers and security could see what was going on. I've stopped keeping my bike there—the other day, I found a guy there looking forlorn, whose bike had been stolen from that same bike rack to which he had locked it with the same type of lock that I use.

People suck, sometimes.

I keep my bikes indoors because I don't like the idea of them all lonely and rusting out there. I'm turn between putting up bike hooks and/or just keeping them on my balcony and setting aside bike space in that giant kitchen of mine.
