Cool! I used to be a member at VanDusen. :) Haven't been there for years though. You'll have to give me a tour. I used to love the bamboo forest. I didn't know there were so many varieties of bamboo!

The bamboo forest is all mingled up right now. When you went, were they all seperately labelled and kept apart? Bamboo is difficult that way. :)

We went maybe once a month - we were members of the orchid society too (elsewhere, i think). Yeah, the bamboo forest was all seperate and labelled - it was really nice. Congrats on the tour job - should be fun. :)

Hahahahaha! Actually, i have trouble believing this, but they do seem to have just put the bamboo all into the ground with no barriers. It's not unlabelled, intermingled, and I imagine the grove expands by a couple of feet a year...
