Today I spend more money than I've ever spent in my life in one go on something strangers tell me will be entertaining and worthwhile, which I am to receive at a high time-cost in the fall. I am seriously tempted to duck out and instead get a bike or laser eye surgery. That would leave me not owing anyone anything, with lots of spending cash now, and with time and spending cash in the fall.
