So, I'm running late to work. I pass the store the first time, but I don't go in. Then, my afternoon's work is cancelled, and on impulse I decide to go back. I walk in, casually, a cherry pie in hand -- the cherry pie was supposed to be the event of the day. I walk to the cute guy behind the counter for a little while, mentioning that I've been looking casually for a year. He smiles, and pulls out one of the most beautiful creatures I've ever seen.

We have two just like that, he says. Would you like to hold one?

That clinched it. It was just a matter of living arrangements, after that.

She clung to my hand when he tried to take her away. They made it home on the bus. They're unnamed, as yet, but still my very beautiful nice sweet pair of albino doe rats. They're very young as yet, and they have a young-rat cage. One is sneezing just a little -- she's shyer, and likes curling up in your hand. The other is more adventurous, comes out to you, and has already made it to the top level of the cage.

I'm a mum. ;P

Congratulations!

The smaller one is quite snuffly, actually, and her nose is a bit raw-looking. Caring for a rat with a cold might be your first challenge as a rodent-mom.
