I saw it last week and LOVED it. Strangely enough, I thought it was one of the most romantic (or at least romantic and personally relevant) movies ever. It hit me and sandy both quite personally, but the overall tone of the film was intelligent and optimistic. Plus it made me laugh and laugh.
by far the most straightforward of Kaufman's movies.
It was completely about love, and it was pretty much a literal take on that reevaluation of our relationships and identities that I, at least, go through sometimes, the kind of reevaluation where you decide if you really want to do this or not. I go through one of those about every three months. :/ It was also a, not balanced, but it showed two ends of the spectrum that relationships swing through really well...
Yeah, romantic might be a good word, though I don't think it effected any of my people the same way, and when that experience isn't shared it's not quite the same. :/
