Sadness

Lynx got one more goose. Got the lynx.

Beneath that coat it was the skinniest animal I'd touched. It was starving, probably why it was coming by all hours of the day and night.

I am sad for my goose, she was a brave pilgrim girl.

I am sad the lynx had to be killed.

And I'm sad the poor kitten spent is last weeks starving and desperate.

Some times are hard.

I'm sorry for both of these deaths, and for you having to have been part of them.

I'm so used to my animals having a happy life, I wish I could have given the lynx at least a couple weeks with a full belly and safety if it had to die.
