So the reason I started antidepressants was that we (family doctor and I) are trying to figure out why I get so ridiculously tired in the week before my period. Like, worried-I'm-going-to-die-from-being-too-tired-to-breathe tired. The one I went on helped what was evidently depression, but I still get tired. Blood tests tried, everything seems to be in order-ish.

So we tried adding a second antidepressant since the two are supposed to be complimentary.

The first night I tried it, I woke up at 1am and stayed awake all night, and it felt like it was at least 40C in the bedroom. It was probably more like 19C.

I skipped a night, to get some sleep, then tried it two nights in a row. First night: still way too warm, even/especially outside, slept deeply and long. Next night (last night): incredible struggle to get out of bed and keep my eyes open even now, at 2 in the afternoon. I'm worried that it won't wear off in time for me to go buy feed, which I need to do because I was too tired yesterday to trust myself driving. The stuff does say on the bottle "do not operate heavy machinery".

So assuming I want to actually do things like work, feed myself, walk around, or do farm chores this one seems to be right out. Even if the side effects levelled out after a couple weeks (apparently they usually do), I just can't make it that long.

And of course, this was over the big gardening weekend here.

I did get the rest of the corn in the ground, both flint (backyard) and flour (pig field). I inventoried my peppers, brought the sheet out in the rain, and completely eliminated the ink. I inventoried my tomatoes on the garden spreadsheet on my phone and laid them out in alphabetical order with a pollen trap-row of exserted-stigma tomatoes of various kinds in a central row. I'm going to do a florida weave to support them, which is both easier and doesn't require me to cut stakes for and then prune 200 tomatoes. It'll mean there's a little more competition pressure between the different varieties but honestly I know they won't all set ripe fruit so I may just rogue anything out that doesn't have at least green fruit by the beginning of August.

But, the tomatoes aren't in the ground yet, the squash isn't in the ground, the cucumbers aren't out, the dry beans are soaking to go out tomorrow, the green beans aren't out yet... I did not get everything done I'd hoped.

Meanwhile the ducklings are huge and growing every day so their next size up brooder needs readying.

Yesterday was a day completely off things, including decisions, while playing in the garden. It felt really good. I wish I'd been able to get up and out there sooner, though, and there's so much left to do. I'd like to take time off work to do it but the season is really taking off...
