Oh, pretty!

(And also, just to be a literalist downer: So many trees came down in May, when we had that big power outage here. I'm even more firm on my "nothing that grows taller than 15 ft" rule for urban lots now than I was back in April).

Redwoods are highly, highly unlikely to come down in the first 200-300 years or so, just structurally, but that is definitely a safe rule.

There was someone in Vancouver, I suspect one landscape design company in the 70s or 80s, that put redwoods in all sorts of high-density urban housing development type spaces. Some are only a foot or two away from the walls now, aand because they grow in girth so quickly I'm not sure what happens next.

High density housing?
Unless it's roachy as hell, I suspect those trees are going to be killed.
