RAT BABIES (& the current menagerie)

Four boys, four girls, plus one runt who didn't make it till I got home from work. They are so ridiculously adorable. Pictures tomorrow, because I keep forgetting to take them when handling them today and I don't want to disturb the mommy again this evening. I'm already completely in love. You're supposed to pick up the babies a ocuple of times a day to start socialising them, and whether or not it's hooking the babies on human contact, it's sure hooking me on the babies.

So wonderful.

After work I come home and pick up the babies and all I can do is stare at them and kiss them and babble things like 'look, you can see their whiskers, some are curly... and their little is going to have dark fur... and look they've grown toenails since yesterday... look I wonder what that internal organ is... and that one has a redder tail... and that one is going to have dark fur on its face... and listen, you can hear them making little sucking noises... and that one is sucking on that other one's foot' to whoever is in the room.

Plus we're planting out a ton of hyacinths at work. This spring it's going to look (and smell) amazing!
