I got to do what I love to do today, for money, and I liked it. I got to strut around with a holstered set of pruning shears on my hip and play with plants.

It was great till I got home and read up on the stuff going on in New Orleans. I know this stuff is in people-- both the people rioting, raping, etc and the people keeping Canadian aid (food, people, etc) out of the US. I don't wanna see it, though.

Here's a secret I haven't really told anyone except Chris, who understands: I'm trying for that permaculture apprenticeship next summer for two reasons, one because I love it, and the second... really, truly, the second because I want to have the ability to keep myself and others alive if and when it all goes under.

So there, that's the secret of the day. Be well, y'all.

Hi

The permaculture thing really is fascinating.

Also, wanting to keep people alive after the blast (or what-have-you) is an unusual an noble reason to want to do anything.

Wanting to keep people alive after the blast is what?

I dunno, how much more selfish can you get than not wanting all your friends to just up and die on you, and wanting to have a barterable skill?

I find permaculture absolutely fascinating, obviously.

Do you ever have free time?

Hi

Hmm... wanting is one thing, but actually having that be the reason behind some of your actions is another.

Free time! I am made of nothing else! All I do is study and play games, so yes.

Hi

Good idea: why don't you come to KMM sometime?

Actually, what I meant was:

Good idea! Why don't you come to KKM sometime?

But the first one works too.

No, you meant:

Good idea! Why don't you come to KMM sometime!?!?!

But the answer remains: I tend to be tired on Mon nights and need to get up early the next day. I keep planning to, but life tends to not allow for it.

Hi

Ow my eyes!

Hmm... in that case something else must be arranged: perhaps tea and Blokus some evening? Or perhaps you know of some social event on a KMM scale?

Maybe Dim Sum or Laser Tag? On a Saturday?

Blokus looks suspiciously like a game.

Laser tag I've never done. Hm.

What I really wanna do is find a park with a cable slide. I understand they're taking those down as 'too unsafe' but after a lovely time on the tire swings with Devon the other day I find myself missing playground equipment badly.

D'you do Sha Lin noodles?

Hi

Hmm... Blokus is a game, but like Backgammon it is played non-competitively over a cup of joe (or cha) and a delightful conversation. It is game-like, though.

Laser tag is fun, and from your comment about swings, you sound like you would enjoy it.

Little forest? I like noodles.

As for parks with cables: only at night and only in drink.

Noncompetitive like, doing crosswords together noncompetitive?

Is laser tag like tire swings?

It's the noodle place on Cambie and Broadway, "made by hands"

Re cable slides: you suck.

Hi

Noncompetitive like, a poetry slam noncompetitive.

Running around in the dark acting like a six year old? Yes!

Ah! Yes, right across from Great Golden Wall; I know the place.

Re I suck: ouch.
