Okay. So I'm just gonna be like this for a bit. Greatpoets hit me with this one, and it's one of my favourites.

Juggler and I are tearing through a construction project with highly toxic but stupendously beautiful wood-- paduak. Dear gods, but it's lovely. The sawdust is like blood. You'll see. I'm mgoing to try hand-making hinges with wire and pliers.

It's so funny to work with the Juggler on one of my projects-- our asthetic sensibilities are so different, almost comedically so.

So We'll Go No More A-Roving

So we'll go no more a-roving
So late into the night,
Though the heart be still as loving,
As the moon be still as bright.

For the sword outwears its sheath,
And the soul wears out the breast,
And the heart must pause to breathe,
And Love itself have rest.

Though the night was made for loving,
And the day returns too soon,
Yet we'll go no more a-roving
By the light of the moon.

~Lord Byron

This may sound like an odd question, but hey, that's what LJ is for, right? I remember reading about yous planing wood to make a kayak, I beleive, and I was wondering how thing and wide the wood peices are. Reason is that I'm in search of 1/8 inch thick or so wood, an inch or so across, about 15 inches long, to use as busks in corset making, and was wondering if that was similar to the dimensions you're cutting, and if so, what services I could render to beg some off of you? There's no hurry, of course. Perhaps we can talk briefly if we're stuck in line at the same time on Sat for Sin?

Could make some for you easily. It would be really breakable, though, and fragile, and stuff...

Byron is the world's bestest poet, and Sappho too. I can't pick between the two.

I mostly don't like his stuff, except for this.

There aren't actually a lot of Greek lyric poets or poems. If you run a search it should take you no time to read most of them. http://www.geocities.com/greeklyricpoets/
