The experience I associate the most strongly with autism is the simultaneous and somehow not contradictory dawning realizations that most of the people around me are in favour of something I find horrific and in fact consider me immoral and horrific for not agreeing with them; and that I'm probably just misunderstanding and they would never do the thing because they're actually talking about something quite different.

However, I do not think this is a universally autistic experience.
